Crafting the Moment
Howdy. I’m Sarah. This post should probably be about how I grabbed some scissors or a whisk and made something awesome, but it’s not. I’ll write a larger introduction post later but for now, my craftacular hobbies outside of reading and reviewing romance are cooking, paper crafts, and photography. All the art in our house, with the exception of two pieces, are photographs that I’ve taken, or that my husband and I have purchased from charity auctions or online vendors.
So today, I grabbed my camera and made with the crafting of some fine JPG images. I think crafting is about grabbing the moment as much as it is about being creative, so even if 90% of my images stay on my hard drive, I still love taking pictures of what’s changing around me.
For those of you who aren’t in a part of the country where the trees change color, have some fall.
- The red one is a Japanese maple. They’re amazing in the fall.
- The bright red lasts for about 2-3 days, but while it’s on fire, it’s on fiiiiiire.
- We have four Japanese maples. This is the last one with leaves.
- We won’t discuss how much raking goes on in our world.
- We have evergreens, too. For a Jewish family, we have outstanding Xmas trees.
- We don’t get much orange. Just red and yellow. Fine by me!
- The tree turns colors all at once, and it’s amazing.
- They’re turning purple.
- The fall blooming hydrangeas are purple and burgundy.
- I wanted to clip some, but they’ve got buds for next year.

Lovely images. I love photography.and congrats on the new blog.
The leaves here weren’t nearly as vibrant this year. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the congrats. I was totally lucky with the leaves. Last year we had a huge windstorm and pfft – all gone. This year we had color for weeks. It was awesome.
Thanks for the lovely photos of the leaves changing! I live in Florida and we have no change of seasons at all so I’ve always been awed by the amazing colors some trees go through.
