Oliver and S, Jump Rope Dress

I’ve looked at the Oliver and S patterns for some time but thought that they weren’t quite for me. I’m not sure why.  I then saw this gorgeous but understated version of the new Jump Rope Dress.  I purchased the pattern and fabrics at Treadle Yard Goods in St. Paul.

The trickiest part of this pattern is the placket but the instructions and pattern made it almost foolproof.   I love the quiet sophistication of the jump rope dress.

This one is View A with long sleeves in quilting cotton.

This dress is View B, long sleeves made up in fine cord.

  1. I adore the vintage powder blue cotton dress with the pockets on the outside. I used to have dresses like those. Wish I could find them in stores now.

  2. omgsh! That’s the cutest dress! LOVE the pink knee socks.

  3. I plan to make a couple of summer dresses out of menswear striped shirting. I think the effect would be super cute.
